Refined Artistry Within a World-Class Museum

Sinta Quartet and a pianist performing for a seated audience at the World Chess Hall of Fame & Galleries.

Step inside our intimate gallery for a vivid exploration of symphonic power through a single keyboard. This WCHOF Music Series performance invites guests to encounter orchestral masterworks reimagined for the piano four hands, marking the debut of Samuel Hollister, Assistant Conductor of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Featuring the shimmering colors of Claude Debussy’s breathtaking La mer, the program highlights how two performers transform familiar compositions into an up-close experience. Together with Music Director Brian Woods, Hollister brings fresh energy to a medium once serving as a bridge between concert halls and private salons. This recital transforms our unique Saint Louis museum into a sanctuary of sound, where the complexity of the chessboard meets the architectural grandeur of classical music's finest masterpieces.
