Harmonic Ingenuity in a Masterful Setting

Sinta Quartet and a pianist performing for a seated audience at the World Chess Hall of Fame & Galleries.

Step inside our intimate gallery at the World Chess Hall of Fame & Galleries for a vivid exploration of one of history’s most innovative composers. This WCHOF Music Series concert invites guests to experience stirring masterworks reimagined through the voices of just six musicians. Featuring the intense "Serioso" String Quartet, Op. 95 alongside a rare chamber version of the Piano Concerto No. 4, Op. 58, the program highlights Beethoven’s extraordinary ability to create profound musical conversation. Joined by Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra musicians Ann Fink (violin), Jessie Chen (violin), Chris Tantillo (viola), Yin Xiong (cello), and David DeRiso (bass), Music Director Brian Woods presents a program of fresh perspective on enduring genius. This performance transforms our gallery into a sanctuary of sound, where the complexity of the chessboard meets the architectural grandeur of classical music's finest compositions.
