GET READY FOR SUSTAINABLE HOLIDAY CRAFTING!

Join the World Chess Hall of Fame & Galleries, Saint Louis‘s premier cultural destination, for a unique, approachable, hands-on workshop. This interactive, family-friendly program is a highlight of the local calendar and a fun way to experience chess education through creative play and strategic material reuse.

The Program: Reclaimed Fabric Garland

Looking for a fun and sustainable way to decorate for the holidays? Join Perennial’s creative reuse crew at our art gallery to make your own reclaimed fabric garland. You’ll learn our simple “snip and rip” technique and basic knots to create a beautiful, eco-friendly decoration. We’ll provide all the secondhand yarn and fabric you need, and you’ll get to choose the colors and patterns that best match your style.

Perennial is a non-profit organization in Saint Louis where you can learn creative ways to reuse materials. By reducing waste and crafting with salvaged materials, their community diverts more than 10,000 pounds from landfills yearly! Take home a unique, handmade garland that’s perfect for celebrating the season. All supplies for this activity are included, and no chess experience is required to join!

The program has a $10 entry fee, but is FREE for World Chess Hall of Fame & Galleries Members! Learn more about becoming a member.
