Composer Series: Opera Theatre of Saint Louis Season Preview Event

Join us for an evening with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis! The program will feature three incoming Gerdine Young Artists for Opera Theatre’s 2020 Festival Season. Repertoire will include a sneak peak of the four operas to be performed this summer, as well as other favorites, ensemble pieces, and more!

Soprano Katerina Burton returns for her second year as a Gerdine Young Artist. You may remember her from last season as “Verna/Young Lovely” and an ensemble member in Terrence Blanchard’s world premiere, Fire Shut Up In My Bones.

Mezzo-Soprano Zaray Rodriguez joins Opera Theatre this summer as a first-year Gerdine Young Artist, covering the role of Carmen, as well as a member of the chorus in Die Fledermaus and Susannah this summer.

Tenor Moises Salazar will also have his first year as a young artist with OTSL. Salazar will sing Elder Gleaton in Susannah, cover Frank in Awakenings, and perform as a member of the chorus.

Pianist Christina Giuca joins us from Chicago where she makes her home. Giuca has served as the staff accompanist and titles coordinator for OTSL for the past two seasons.
