Want to take your stick figure drawings to the next level? Grab your paper, pencils and charcoal and join us for two hours of live-model drawing with instructor Brian Flowers. Learn about drawing supplies, how to draw gestures and use sighting techniques to improve speed and proportions in a series of two to fi ve minute poses. After a short break, shift gears and slow down with a longer, contour drawing exercise, followed by a fun show & tell.

No experience? No problem! This program is designed for fi gure drawing novices as well as those with previous experience. This is the fi rst in a series of introductory drawing events  that will focus on human form and fi gure in a fun, intimate atmosphere. Basic drawing supplies and boards will be available on a fi rst-come, fi rst-served basis—feel free to bring your own!

Please arrive promptly at 6 p.m. for introductions and refreshments. Due to the nature of this event—which may include a nude or partially nude model, doors will close at 6:15 p.m. until a break at 7 p.m. Availability is limited to 15 guests, 21 or older.

Brian Flowers is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, where he received his BFA with an emphasis in fi gure drawing & painting. He has been active as a private art tutor and  instructor for high school and adult art classes in Illinois and Missouri. Brian has exhibited throughout the region, including. ‘In Tandem,’ a duo-exhibition at Southeastern Illinois College. In addition to a variety of commissioned pieces—including a mural at a car dealership, his artwork is on permanent display at Southeast Missouri State University’s Towers Complex and Harrison College of Business.
