WCHOF Book Group: Escher on Escher

Registration is closed for this event

Explore the mind of world-renowned Dutch printmaker M.C. Escher in a group discussion about his book, Escher on Escher: Exploring the Infinite. The book is an insightful look into Escher’s inspiration and process—explained by the artist himself—which includes a collection previously-unreleased lectures and articles. After sharing thoughts and feedback, guests will participate in a scavenger hunt for select works in our dual-floor exhibition, M.C. Escher: Infinite Variations.

Maurits Cornelius Escher was a graphic artist of Dutch descent whose artwork is comprised largely of mathematically and fantastically-inspired woodcuts, lithographs, and mezzotints. Though most of his work was created during the 1940’s and 50’s, it wasn’t until later that Escher became widely appreciated and one of the world’s most recognizable artists today.
