WCHOF Crafts & Cocktails: Upcycled Sports Garden Markers with Perennial
GET READY FOR CREATIVE REUSE!
Join the World Chess Hall of Fame & Galleries, Saint Louis’s premier cultural destination, for a unique, approachable, hands-on workshop. This interactive, eco-friendly program is a fun way to experience chess education through creative play and sustainable art.
The Program: Upcycled Sports-Themed Garden Markers
Personalize Your Plants with Perennial
Want to add a little personality to your garden? Join the creative crew at Perennial for a fun and free-spirited workshop where we’ll show you how to turn everyday items like soda cans and wire hangers into one-of-a-kind sports-themed garden markers right here in our Saint Louis art gallery.
You’ll learn simple DIY embossing techniques to press unique designs and messages onto your markers. Label your plants with their names, give them a silly chess-themed nickname (like “Pawn to Peony”), or share some love with encouraging messages like “you grow, girl!” or “feeling cute, might grow some roots later.”
While you craft, enjoy delicious cocktails and appetizers.
Perennial is a non-profit organization in Saint Louis where you can take classes to learn creative ways to reuse materials. By reducing waste and crafting with salvaged materials, this community diverts more than 10,000 pounds from landfills yearly!
All supplies for this workshop are included, and no chess experience is needed to join in!
The program has a $10 entry fee, but it is $5 for World Chess Hall of Fame & Galleries Members! Learn more about becoming a member.
