Crafts & Cocktails: Textile Mending with Gina Alvarez
Learn the basics of textile mending with community artist, Gina Alvarez! Guests will learn to sew buttons, hems, and a variety of stitches. Attendees are welcome to bring a garment in need of repair to practice, however, materials will also be provided. No experience? No problem! This workshop is designed for those with no previous sewing experience.
Availability is limited to 15 guests.
Gina Alvarez received her B.A. from the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC, where she focused her attention on printmaking and costume design. Gina moved to Saint Louis to pursue her Masters in printmaking and drawing at Washington University. She has exhibited her work extensively in Saint Louis as well as Chicago, Washington state, New York, Washington D.C., and South Carolina. She currently works as a community artist and runs the Living Arts Studio in Maplewood.

Appetizers and refreshments provided. Metered on-street parking is available, as well as paid lots adjacent to Kingside Diner and at the Schlafly branch of the St. Louis Public Library.
