Felt Chess Pieces with Erin King

Watch artist and WCHOF Gallery Attendant Erin King create chess pieces made from wool, similar to those featured in our current exhibition, Masterminds: Chess Prodigies. Erin will talk about her creative process and explain this fiber-art technique as she demonstrates the making of several chess pieces.

Erin King is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily in fiber-based processes. She is driven by the social responsibility of the individual as well as the strength and interconnectedness found in the community. King received her Master's of Fine Arts in Studio Art with an Emphasis in Fibers in May 2019. She was Fiber Artist-in-Residence at Craft Alliance in St. Louis from July through December 2019. In addition to working as a Gallery Attendant at the World Chess Hall of Fame, she teaches fiber art classes and workshops through Craft Alliance and Perennial St. Louis.
