Join us for an evening of drawing designed to challenge the way you see and perceive three-dimensional objects. Nick Schleicher will begin the workshop with a brief slideshow followed by a blind contour exercise, focusing on deliberate line. Then we will move to drawing with scissors, an exercise in shape recognition, using a still life set up, model, or even the images in our phones. No art skills? No problem! This program is designed for drawing novices as well as those with previous experience. Availability is limited to 15 participants.

Nick Schleicher (b 1988) received a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago where he focused on painting and sculpture in 2011. His work ranges from color field abstractions focused on the process of painting as informed by astronomical imagery to sculptural forms inspired by domestic display.

Recent solo exhibitions include Grease 3, Saint Louis, MO; PLAQUE at Granite City Art & Design District, Granite City, IL; Hoffman LaChance Contemporary, Saint Louis, MO; and The Millitzer Gallery, Saint Louis, MO. He currently lives and works in Saint Louis, MO. More info at www.nickschleicher.com.
