Color and Form with Eugenia Alexander

Registration is closed for this event

Mixed media artist Eugenia Alexander will lead a workshop inspired by Vasarely’s Alphabet Plastique. Working with a paint, markers, and paper, participants will create an ‘alphabet’ of shapes and colors that will allow for endless permutations and unique works of art. Arrive early and enjoy the exhibition Victor Vasarely: Calculated Compositions before the event!

In the 1960’s Victor Vasarely introduced his Alphabet Plastique, a grid-based system that established modular relationships between forms and colors. Each painting in this series was based on forms derived from the circle, square, and triangle. Vasarely wanted to reach out through his universal language to transmit basic human values to the general public outside of the art establishment.

*Free admission for WCHOF members. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments are provided.
