It’s hard to believe it’s been two weeks since the World Chess Hall of Fame (WCHOF) opened its doors to the public! To kick off the public opening on September 9, 2011, the WCHOF celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a preview of the inaugural exhibitions, OUT OF THE BOX: Artists Play Chess, Chess Masterpieces: Highlights from the Dr. George and Vivian Dean Collection, and the World and U.S. Chess Halls of Fame and Highlights from the Permanent Collection. Also, we were honored to have Boris Gulko and Andrew (Andy) Soltis present as they were inducted into the 2011 class of the U.S. Chess Hall of Fame. To learn more about these important contributors to the game of chess, stop by the WCHOF or go to the Hall of Fame section of our website. In addition, Vera Menchik was posthumously inducted into the World Chess Hall of Fame.
