Step into the world of strategic brilliance and artistic expression with a captivating musical celebration of our current exhibition Donna Dodson: Match of the Matriarchs and Other Amazonomachies and powerful women in chess. Presented as part of the World Chess Hall of Fame Music Series, this unique event weaves the elegance of chess with the power of music to pay homage to the remarkable women who have left an indelible mark on the chessboard. In this enchanting performance, the intersection of intellect and creativity takes center stage. The melodic moves of the musicians mirror the tactical brilliance of the queens on the chessboard, creating a harmonious synergy that transcends both worlds. “Match of the Matriarchs” is not merely a musical showcase but a heartfelt tribute to Donna Dodson’s incredible artwork as well as women’s resilience, intelligence, and strategic prowess in chess.
Music and love define the artistry of singer, songwriter, and dedicated community activist Brian Owens. These qualities radiate from all of his work, including his duet with five-time Grammy-winning and legendary vocalist Michael McDonald on SOUL OF FERGUSON and the heartfelt interpretation of Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come,” which Owens filmed and recorded with his father, Thomas Owens.
