Specializing in late 17th and early 18th-century chamber music, La Petite Brise (The Little Breeze) will charm you with musical delights. The ensemble—Leighann Daihl Ragusa (baroque flute), Stephanie Hunt (baroque cello) and Jeffrey Noonan (theorbo and early guitar), perform on reproductions of period instruments including a wooden, one-keyed baroque flute and a theorbo, a massive plucked-string instrument of the lute family.
Leighann and Stephanie first worked together in 2010 in Holland when both were doing advanced studies in Early Music at conservatories in The Hague and Utrecht. After reconnecting in 2015 at a conference at Indiana University’s Early Music Institute, they immediately made plans to play together again, and the trio debuted in early 2017 with a very successful concert at the Saint James Chapel in downtown Chicago. La Petite Brise’s current season includes performances in Saint Louis and several concert series in Indiana.
