SOLD OUT: Monthly Music Series: The Musical Imagery of Chess

In collaboration with Christopher Stark and Peter Henderson, Bjorn Ranheim and Adam Maness have created a unique concert event that celebrates the game of chess, the original 1944 The Imagery of Chess exhibition, and the culmination of the exhibit The Imagery of Chess: Saint Louis Artists.

The September 20th, 2017 Monthly Music Series concert will include performances of John Cage's Chess Pieces and Vittorio Rieti's Chess Serenade, as well as world premier performances of works composed for this exhibition by Maness, Stark, and Henderson. Featuring musicians from the St. Louis Symphony and other special guests, this concert event will include commentary from the composers on their inspiration through the game of chess and compositional processes.

Metered on-street parking is available, as well as paid lots adjacent to Kingside Diner and at the Schlafly Branch of the St. Louis Public Library.
