Explore the connections between chess and comics with Michael Tisserand, author of Krazy: George Herriman, A Life in Black and White, a full-length biography of cartoonist George Herriman, the creator of Krazy Kat. Join us after the talk for a book signing and opportunity to meet the author.

Michael Tisserand's books include Kingdom of Zydeco and Sugarcane Academy: How a New Orleans Teacher and His Storm Struck Students Created a School to Remember. His work has appeared in the Oxford American, The Nation, The Progressive, and on WBEZ-FM Chicago. When not writing, Tisserand coaches scholastic chess and organizes the annual New Orleans Chess Fest.

Krazy is available for purchase in Q Boutique at the World Chess Hall of Fame.
