Grandmaster Judit Polgar is universally recognized as the strongest female player of all time. Among her many accolades, she was first rated in the top 100 players in the world at age 12, maintained the world number 1 ranking for women for 26 years, broke Bobby Fischer's record as the youngest grandmaster in 1991, and was the only woman to have ever reached the Candidates stage with a rating over 2700.
