WCHOF Composer Series: World Tour with the Nitchman Akin Duo

Enjoy a special performance by the Nitchman Akin Duo as they take you on a world tour featuring classical music for flute and guitar. Based on traditional music from India, Bulgaria, the British Isles, and the Appalachian region of the United States, the program will make for an evening of varied styles and moods from quiet and contemplative to wild and celebratory. Music by Ravi Shankar, Atanas Ourkouzounov, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and Robert Beaser.

Jennifer Nitchman and W. Mark Akin formed the Nitchman Akin Duo in 2020 to explore the vast repertoire of classical music written for flute and guitar. Jennifer Nitchman has been a member of the St. Louis Symphony since 2003. She performs frequently as a chamber musician with the Chamber Music Society of St. Louis and the Missouri Chamber Music Festival and is active in the community as a teacher. W.
