WCHOF Music Series: Linda Diaz

Join us for a fabulous performance by R&B artist and chess player Linda Diaz. Diaz, a singer & songwriter from the Lower East Side of Manhattan, won the NPR Tiny Desk Contest with a live rendition of her song “Green Tea Ice Cream,” beating out over 6,000 entries nationwide. Her genre-bending sound is anchored by skillful poetic lyricism, soulful voice, and jazz sensibility.

Linda is also the co-host of the award winning PBS musical education series “Sound Field” and a former competitive chess player. Known affectionately by her nickname “the Tank,” she played internationally for 13 years and won several titles before retiring from competitive chess to go to college.
