Join the World Chess Hall of Fame as we present woodwind quintet music from around the world with the Intercultural Music Initiative Chamber Players.
The IMI (Intercultural Music Initiative) Chamber Players is a consortium of professional musicians, composers, educators, scholars, and administrators with a common mission to perform music by lesser-known composers, particularly African American and other African-descent composers. True to this mission, the group will perform music from South America, Europe, Africa, and North America. IMI artists advocate for music education, diversity issues and the development of culturally inclusive music curricula in schools, colleges and conservatories. The IMI is one of several programs of the non-profit arts organization, African Musical Arts, based in Saint Louis, Missouri.
