Crafts & Cocktails: Book Making with Erin King

Registration is closed for this event

Join us for an evening of book arts with the guidance of multidisciplinary artist, Erin King! Inspired by the artifacts on view in US Chess: 80 Years, participants will learn various pop-up mechanisms to create their own one-of-a-kind artist’s books, or books that are made to function as a piece of artwork. No previous experience is required and all materials are included.

Availability is limited to 16 guests. The event will be held at Kingside Diner, which is across the street from the World Chess Hall of Fame.

Erin King received her MFA in Fiber Arts from the University of MissouriColumbia, and is currently an artist-in-residence at the Craft Alliance Center of Art + Design. King’s most recent body of work involves deconstructing piano “dead bodies” and repurposing the parts as experimental looms for tapestry weaving.

Reservations recommended.

$5 Admission for WCHOF Members. $10 General Admission.

Appetizers and refreshments provided. Metered on-street parking is available, as well as paid lots adjacent to Kingside Diner and at the Schlafly branch of the St. Louis Public Library.
